10/25/2004: Hans Ulrich Herpos, a Swiss National married to a Tamil woman, was killed while taking a shower in his home in Batticaloa town, Sri Lanka. Although no group claimed responsibility, one source noted that the victim was believed to be engaged in a land dispute with the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) at the time of the killing. The victim owned a piece of land that fell within LTTE territory.
