11/19/2005: Taliban members kidnapped an Indian engineer and three Afghan civilians in Afghanistan’s Nimroz Province. A Taliban spokesman claimed responsibility for the kidnapping and threatened to kill the hostages unless the victim's company agreed to leave the country.

Additional Information One of the hostages was killed shortly after the abduction. The fate of the remaining hostages is unknown. In a statement to the AFP a Taliban spokesman indicated that the Indian company whom the engineer worked for had 48 hours to leave before they killed the victim. He also noted that a religious council would decide the appropriate punishment for the engineer and the other hostages.
