04/03/2009: On Friday evening at 1900, in Pourabi Nunggoi, Imphal, Manipur, India, militants shot and killed Salam Joy, of the militant wing of the Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) for working against the interests of the party. The KCP admitted responsibility for the attack, claiming that Joy was given capital punishment to discourage other party cadres from following his footsteps.

The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.
