10/18/2009: On Sunday morning at 0500 in San Jose village in Boston, Davao Oriental, Philippines, assailants fired upon the residence of a Civilian Armed Forces Geographical Unit (CAFGU) member, killing one civilian farmer and damaging the residence. The New People's Army/Communist Party of the Philippines (NPA-CPP) claimed responsibility and said the civilian's death was a mistake.

The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.

Successful Attack
Success of a terrorist strike is defined according to the tangible effects of the attack.
