08/01/2010: On Sunday, in Doki, Latehar, Jharkhand, India, a local government employee, identified as Sudhansu Bhusan Ram, was kidnapped. The hostage was released an hour later unharmed. The specific motive for the attack is unknown; however, the abductors complained to Ram about corruption before releasing him. No damages were reported and no group claimed responsibility, but it was suspected that Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-M) militants were responsible.
