09/20/2010: On Monday evening at 2100, in the Green Zone area of Karkh district, Baghdad, Iraq, assailants fired a mortar round at the residence of a former Speaker of Parliament, Mahmoud al-Mashhadani, wounding six of his bodyguards, destroying a vehicle, and damaging the residence. No group claimed responsibility.

Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.

Successful Attack
Success of a terrorist strike is defined according to the tangible effects of the attack.
