Incident Summary:
12/19/2010: On Sunday morning at 0830, in Nunnungeria village in Jhargram, West Midnapore, West Bengal, India, suspected Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-M) militants set fire to a bulldozer after killing a railway worker, Srikant Saren, who had brought the bulldozer to the village in order to dig a pond. Supposedly the Maoists wanted unemployed villagers to be given the task under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA), instead of using machines for the purpose. The attack caused an unknown amount of property damage and no group claimed responsibility.

Criteria
Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.
Criterion 2
There must be evidence of an intention to coerce, intimidate, or convey some other message to a larger audience (or audiences) than the immediate victims. Successful Attack
Success of a terrorist strike is defined according to the tangible effects of the attack.
