Incident Summary:
12/20/2010: On Monday evening around 1830, on Ametkhan-Sultan Street in the capital of Makhachkala, Dagestan, Russia, an improvised explosive device placed inside a trash can detonated next to the entrance of the lkhan shopping center. The blast wounded a taxi driver and a woman passenger. They were taken to a nearby hospital to receive medical treatment. No damages were reported in the attack and no group has claimed responsibility.

Success of a terrorist strike is defined according to the tangible effects of the attack. Success is not judged in terms of the larger goals of the perpetrators.
