Incident Summary:
01/12/2011: On Wednesday, at the Television Cerro Cora - Channel Nine, at the Carlos Antonio Lopez plaza in the Sajonia area of Asuncion, Central, Paraguay, in one of two related attacks, an improvised explosive device was detonated. The explosion caused a hole in one of the beams of the television station but resulted in no casualties. No group has claimed responsibility, although authorities believe that the Paraguayan People's Army was responsible.

The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.

Success of a terrorist strike is defined according to the tangible effects of the attack. For example, in a typical successful bombing, the bomb detonates and destroys property and/or kills individuals, whereas an unsuccessful bombing is one in which the bomb is discovered and defused or detonates early and kills the perpetrators. Success is not judged in terms of the larger goals of the perpetrators.
