Incident Summary:

02/03/2011: On Thursday morning at 0700, on Stratheden Street in Belfast, Northern Ireland, an improvised explosive device, described as a pipe bomb, was discovered on the window sill of a house. Residents in the area had to evacuate while police worked to defuse the device. After about four hours, police conducted a controlled explosion and rendered the device safe. No damage or casualties were reported. No group has claimed responsibility for the device; however, dissident republican militants are suspected to be responsible.
