Incident Summary:

07/11/2011: Assailants abducted three people, including Gerfa Lunsmann, her son Kevin, and nephew Romnick Jackaria, at a resort on Tictabon Island in Zamboanga Sibugay, Philippines. All three hostages were beaten while in captivity. Gerfa was released following a $5,000.00 ransom payment on October 2, 2011. Romnick was released on November 13, 2011, while Kevin escaped on December 10, 2011. Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) claimed respomnsibility for the attack.
