11/6/2011: Unidentified assailants attacked a United Nations peacekeeping patrol near Nyala, Darfur region, Sudan. The gunmen opened fire, killing one soldier and wounding two more; all three of the victims were from Sierra Leone. One assailant was taken into custody following the incident.
