08/01/2012: Assailants kidnapped two journalists in Afrin town, Aleppo governorate, Syria. The two Turkish journalists, Cihat Arpacik and Kemal Gumus, were released the following day, August 2, 2012. No group claimed responsibility for the attack; however, sources attributed it to the People's Protection Units (YPG).
