Incident Summary:

09/20/2013: An assailant opened fire on a Yemeni Special Forces camp in Mayfaah, Shabwah governorate, Yemen. At least eight police officers were killed in this attack while 21 others were abducted. All of the kidnapped officers were released on September 24, 2013. This was one of four attacks in Shabwah on this day, all of which were claimed by Al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP).
