03/23/2014: Assailants launched rockets, targeting the vehicle of Hilal al-Assad, in Kasab town, Lattakia governorate, Syria. Eight members of the National Defense Forces were killed in the blast, including Al-Assad, a cousin of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and leader of the National Defence Forces. The Islamic Front (Syria) claimed responsibility for the incident.
