Incident Summary:

05/11/2014: Assailants abducted Pavel Kanygin, a Russian journalist for the Novaya Gazeta newspaper, and Stefan Scholl, a German journalist, from a cafe in Artemivsk city, Donetsk oblast, Ukraine. Kanygin was beaten and both hostages were released the following day. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to the Donetsk People's Republic.
