Incident Summary:

08/24/2014: Assailants abducted five Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) employees in Kohistan district, Badakhshan province, Afghanistan. Two of the hostages were released the following day while the fate of the remaining three victims are unknown. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources attributed the attack to the Taliban.
