Incident Summary:
10/20/2014: An explosives-laden vehicle detonated near a police checkpoint in al-Wind area, Karbala governorate, Iraq. This was one of three similar attacks in and near Karbala city that occurred nearly simultaneously. At least 16 people were killed and 41 people were injured in the blasts. No group claimed responsibility for the incidents; however, sources suspected that Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) was involved.
