12/13/2014: Assailants abducted 17 civilians, including two teachers, in Hawijah district, Kirkuk, Iraq. The outcome of the kidnapping is unknown. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), stating that the victims had failed to pay allegiance to ISIL.
