03/13/2015: Assailants attacked an Iraqi Army unit southwest of Samarra city, Saladin governorate, Iraq. At least 17 people, including eight soldiers and nine assailants, were killed and 14 other soldiers were injured in the attack. Additionally, 11 soldiers were abducted and their whereabouts are unknown. The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) claimed responsibility for the incident.
