Incident Summary:

04/29/2015: Assailants opened fire on Malian Army positions in Lere town, Timbuktu region, Mali. Nine soldiers and 10 assailants were killed and six soldiers and 16 assailants wounded in the ensuing clash. Six soldiers were also kidnapped; their whereabouts remain unknown. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed it to the Azawad National Liberation Movement (MNLA).
