05/14/2015: Assailants abducted Bernard Ted Fen and Thien Nyuk Fun, the owners of the Ocean King Restaurant, from the restaurant near Sandakan, Sabah state, Malaysia. Fun was released unharmed on November 9, 2015 while Fen was killed on November 17, 2015. The Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) claimed responsibility for the attack and demanded a ransom in exchange for the victims.
