12/25/2015: Assailants attacked Sahdev Badanayak in Kudumulgumma Raba village, Odisha state, India. Badanayak, the a brother of a former village head, was killed in the attack. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to the Communist Party of India - Maoist (CPI-Maoist).

Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.

Successful Attack
