Incident Summary:

02/12/2016: Assailants opened fire on a military convoy between Timbuktu and Goundam, Timbuktu region, Mali. Three soldiers were killed and three others were wounded in the attack. Al-Qaida in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) claimed responsibility for the incident and stated that the attack was carried out in response to the government allowing non-Muslims into the country.
