Incident Summary:

04/09/2016: Assailants ambushed a military convoy and abducted soldiers in Ahwar, Abyan, Yemen. At least 19 of the soldiers were killed and 17 were injured and released later the same day. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to Al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), which the group denied.
