08/25/2016: Assailants attacked civilians fleeing the area in Hawijah district, Kirkuk, Iraq. At least 20 people were killed and 45 people were abducted in the assault. The outcome of the kidnapping is unknown. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).
