Incident Summary:

09/08/2016: An assailant punched, kicked, and attempted to forcibly remove the hijabs of two Muslim women pushing strollers in Brooklyn, New York City, New York, United States. One stroller was knocked over and the assailant attempted to steal the other stroller. Both women and their two babies were injured in the assault. An Anti-Muslim extremist, identified as Emirjeta Xhelili, claimed responsibility for the incident and shouted "this is the United States of America, you're not supposed to be different from us" during the attack. Sources noted that Xhelili had a history of anti-Muslim posts on social media.
