06/01/2017: An explosives-laden vehicle detonated prematurely as assailants were driving to a location to plant it in Qatif, Eastern, Saudi Arabia. At least two assailants were killed in the blast. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources attributed the attack to Shia Muslim extremists.
