01/05/2018: Assailants raided a mining site in Kukud, Jharkhand, India. This was one of two related incidents targeting mines in the area on this date. Two guards were injured across both attacks. Additionally, three construction vehicles were set on fire and a weighbridge was damaged in this assault. No group claimed responsibility for the incidents; however, sources attributed the attacks to Maoists.

Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.
