03/01/2018: Assailants abducted two shepherds near Mubarak al-Farhan, Diyala, Iraq. The two hostages were rescued a short time later following the intervention of local residents. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).
