09/10/2018: Assailants opened fire on a former city councilor in Nassougou, Est, Burkina Faso. The city councilor was killed and an unknown number of others were injured in the attack. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources suspected either Ansar al-Islam (Burkina Faso) or Islamic State in the Greater Sahara (ISGS).
