Incident Summary:

06/12/2019: Assailants armed with rifles and grenades carried out a fidayeen (suicide) attack against a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and state police joint patrol in Anantnag, Jammu and Kashmir, India. Six police personnel and one assailant were killed and three people were injured in the ensuing clash. Al-Umar Mujahideen claimed responsibility for the incident; however, authorities doubted the veracity of the claim. Sources also attributed the attack to Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM).
