10/24/2019: Assailants opened fire on a vehicle carrying the Saad Majeed Abbas, former chairman of the district council, near Mahwala, Diyala, Iraq. Abbas and another family members were killed in the attack. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).
