12/11/2019: Assailants abducted Ye Thein in Buthidaung, Rakhine, Myanmar. Thein, the chair of the National League for Democracy, was killed on December 25, 2019. The Arakan Army (AA) claimed responsibility for the attack, claiming that the politician had planned a rally in support of the ruling government party, a group opposed to the Arakan Army.
