01/00/2020: Sometime between January 7, 2020 and January 9, 2020, assailants abducted five University of Maiduguri students along Damaturu-Maiduguri Road in Jakana, Borno, Nigeria. One hostage was released by the assailants. The outcome for the remaining hostages is unknown. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to Boko Haram.
