Incident Summary:

02/13/2020: Assailants opened fire on residents and set fire to buildings in a village in Mecula district, Niassa, Mozambique. At least eight assailants were killed and 15 other assailants were injured in the ensuing clash with security forces. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources suspected the involvement of Muslim extremists.
