Incident Summary:

03/27/2020: An assailant opened fire on a police officer who stopped to check on an abandoned vehicle near Ely, Nevada, United States. Sergeant Ben Jenkins of the Nevada Highway patrol was killed in the attack. This was one of three related attacks carried out by the same assailant on the same day. Authorities arrested John Dabritz, who later pleaded guilty to the incidents. Sources suspected that the assailant intended to evade arrest from the earlier events and noted that attacks may have been related to the his anti-government views.
