Incident Summary:

06/02/2020: Assailants stopped a vehicle and abducted five people including a soldier, a police officer, and humanitarian workers along Monguno-Maiduguri highway near Gasarwa, Borno, Nigeria. The soldier and the police officer were killed on or before June 11, 2020. Two other hostages, identified as Abdulrahman Babagana and Joseph Prince, were killed on or before July 22, 2020. The fate of the remaining hostages is unknown. The Al-Barnawi faction (Islamic State West Africa Province-ISWAP) of Boko Haram claimed responsibility for the incident.
