Incident Summary:

08/21/2020: Police personnel stopped a vehicle carrying assailants armed with firearms and an explosive device in Kaftoun, Koura district, North province, Lebanon. The assailants opened fire, killing two police officers and the son of the mayor. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources attributed the attack to the Khalid al-Tallawi group, a suspected Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) cell.
