09/01/2020: Assailants abducted Paul Sodje and a companion as they were delivering a ransom payment for an earlier abduction in Idoani, Ondo, Nigeria. Sodje, the former National Scrabble team captain, was killed along with the other victim. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources attributed the attack to Fulani extremists.
