Incident Summary:
10/20/2020: Assailants attacked Kangbayi central prison in Beni, North Kivu, Democratic Republic of the Congo. At least two prisoners were killed in the ensuing clash. In addition, over 1,000 prisoners were freed in the attack. This was one of two coordinated attacks in this area on this day. The Central Africa Province of the Islamic State claimed responsibility for the incident and stated that it was carried out as a part of its "Answer the Call" campaign. Sources also attributed the attack to the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF).

Criteria 1
