Incident Summary:

11/09/2020: Assailants, with the support of local Amharas, attacked ethnic Tigrayans in May Cadera, Tigray, Ethiopia. The attack was organized and initiated as on-going clashes between Tigrayans and Ethiopian armed forces reached May Cadera. Upon the arrival of Ethiopian armed forces, they joined together with the assailants and continued attacking Tigrayan civilians until November 10, 2020. This was one of two simultaneous attacks in May Cadera on this date. At least 767 people were killed and an unknown number of others were injured in the attack. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to Fano militias.
