Bryan Arva is a researcher on the Global Terrorism Database and a Ph.D. candidate at The Pennsylvania State University. His concentrations of study are international relations, comparative politics, and quantitative methodology. His main area of research centers on the causes and consequences of terrorism, and his dissertation project looks at the effects of new information and communication technologies (ICTs) on terrorism in a variety of different contexts. His larger research agenda includes studying the relationship between terrorism and civil conflict as well as trying to create better datasets for terrorism scholars, specifically with regard to group-level studies.
