Incident Summary:

12/12/1975: Three members of the United Freedom Front robbed the Civic Center branch of the Bank of Maine in Augusta, Maine, United States. It is unknown whether any injuries resulted from the incident, but the perpetrators stole $12,606. The perpetrators, Ray Luc Levasseur, and Carol Ann Manning and her husband, Thomas Manning were arrested and indicted for the robbery.

Additional Information It is possible that Joseph Aceto, a member of the Fred Hampton Unit of the People's Forces, was also involved in this robbery as he claimed so and discussed details of his meetings and actions with the perpetrators, while he was under oath, testifying as a government witness. The Fred Hampton Unit of the People's Forces had similar motivations and goals of the UFF in terms of changes for the treatment of prisoners and opposition to American imperialism.
