06/16/1980: A fire was set, by unknown perpetrator(s), at the Iran Times newspaper office in Washington, D.C., United States. The fire was ignited in seven different places in the office, and an empty five-gallon gasoline can was found behind the building after the fire was extinguished. The arson caused $5000 in damages including shattered rear windows and damage to communications equipment. There were no casualties in this incident.
