Incident Summary:

01/06/1998: As a result of two related incidents, several hundred people, including women and children, were burned alive and 117 had their throats cut. These attacks took place in the villages of Had Chekala and Remka in the western Relizane province, Algeria. There were no reports on the numbers who were injured in the attack. Islamic militants were suspected in the attacks.
