07/21/1998: The National Union for the Total Independence of Angola (UNITA) was suspected and then cleared of an attack on the diamond mining village of Canfuno which killed 105 people. The true perpetrators of this incident were unknown, but it was suspected that the incident was probably the work of diamond gangs.
