Incident Summary:

09/11/1998: Mohsen Rafiqdoost, the head of a powerful semi-official foundation in Iran and a former chief of the elite Revolutionary Guards, escaped an assassination attempt. Suspected Islamic militants fired shots at Rafiqdoost, director of the Foundation for the Disinherited and War Disabled (FDWD), from a hill across from his office in eastern Tehran. No one else was injured in the attack.
