02/17/1999: Approximately 25 to 30 Kurds stormed the headquarters of the Social Democratic Party of Germany in Hamburg, Germany and took an employee hostage. The assailants threatened to kill the hostage if the German government did not enter into negotiations with Turkey to release Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) leader Abdullah Ocalan. No further information was provided regarding this attack.
