05/13/1999: A U.S. helicopter technician was kidnapped by four gunmen in Yopal, Colombia. Rebels from either the Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia (FARC) or the National Liberation Army (NLA) were suspected of perpetrating this incident. The fate of the hostage was unknown.
